The City of Eufaula, Oklahoma, is now accepting applications for the position of City Manager. Eufaula is located in the county seat of McIntosh County, Oklahoma, and has a 2010 census population of 2,813, an increase of 6.60% from the 2000 census. Eufaula is also home to Lake Eufaula, the largest-capacity lake in Oklahoma, with a surface area of 102,000 acres and 600 miles of shoreline.
The selected candidate will serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the City and will be responsible for directing the implementation of policies and programs adopted by City Council, resolving citizen concerns, representing the City within the community, region and state as required and will prepare the annual budget for consideration by the City Council. The City Manager’s office is also responsible for communication, and coordination of major developments within the community.

Experience : Candidates should have a minimum of five years’ experience in a senior management position in a municipal government organization or other related public service organization. Prior experience as a City Manager is strongly preferred. The preferred candidate must have experience in the following areas: budget preparation, planning and development, grant writing, employee supervision, capital improvement construction projects, economic development, labor and contract negotiations and tourism.
Education : Candidates should possess a degree in public administration, business administration, finance or other municipal-related field. A Master degree in Public Administration is preferred.
